A last call has now been issued for landowners or their heirs who have not yet appeared before the District Land Offices to update their information. The landowners concerned are those who used temporary identification codes to report to the District Land Office long ago due to unknown identification numbers during land registration in 1985 from a manual system to the computerized Land Registration System (LRS). The temporary identification codes that were used are Code D and code Z; Code D referring to landowners who were deceased during registration and code Z referring to landowners who were still alive during the registration. Currently, the existing information has long been outdated due to the fact that there have been no land transactions on the owned lots as well as difficulty in tracing these landowners.
Notices have been given to raise awareness of the Land Department’s crucial need to update information since mid-April this year. It is strongly advised for landowners or their heirs to update their information and they can do so by submitting a form titled “Land Registration Information Update” which is available at all the Lands Department branches and is also available for download via the Land Department website: http://tanah.gov.bn/SitePages/Download.aspx
The previous deadline has now been extended to the 31 DECEMBER 2016. Landowners or their heirs are strongly advised to update their land information by then.
